Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen may have been covering their faces when they left Dan Tana’s on Monday night in West Hollywood—but it’s too bad they weren’t covering up their footwear! Are those Adidas sandals we spy? You’re damn right they are!
The sandals, primarily used by athletes during time off the field, are anything but fashionable. In fact—the slip ons are only priced at $29.95! Kind of an odd choice for high-priced fashionistas!
The sisters, outfitted in various shades of black, were having none of the photos hoping to shoot their mugs. One sis wore a leather jacket, what appears to and loose, cropped pants. The other sis wore a velvet jacket, black jeans and mules.
Recently, the stylish twins talked to Net-a-Porter’s magazine The Edit about how their love of design started with Full House.
“[On Full House] we’d be in six-hour fittings three times a week, because we had to wear 12 different outfits,” said Ashley Olsen. “We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite,” Mary-Kate Olsen added. “So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession.”

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are young moguls known for their fashion-forward styles. Yes, we’re obsessed with their clothing choices, too!
The twins hit the red carpet for the Fresh Air Fund Salute to American Heroes at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Pier in New York. The charitable organization not only helps connect inner city children to host families, but also aids in sending these kids to camp to experience country life.
The Olsens both sported designs from their own clothing collection, The Row. Ashley wore a creme-colored dress from The Row along with Manolo Blahnik heels and bangles by Sydney Garber. Mary-Kate went for a more dramatic look in a black blouse, skirt and purse by The Row paired with Fendi’s colorblock grosgrain sandal ($740).
These two have come a long way since their Full House days!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are featured on a special double edition of Elle UK‘s latest issue, and the 25-year-old fashionistas dish on their clothing lines and fellow designers they admire.
On their plans to expand their retail business, Mary-Kate tells the mag, “It’s about being creative, but having a bigger vision for that creativity. For a designer to be successful nowadays, they need to know much more than just design. [Tom Ford], his career is astonishing—the way he’s been able to do everything he has wanted to do and really not compromise at all. From fashion to film, it’s such a singular vision.”
She adds, “Of course we knew about the trend of celebrities as designers, but we’d done that already when we were much younger. I don’t understand the new idea of designers as celebrities either. To me, the Phoebe Philo [Celine designer] kind of modesty is the way to go. We love beautiful things. That’s the only driving impulse.”
Over the years, the twins have launched several clothing collections, including the couture label, The Row, along with the more affordable Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye lines. So how often do they see eye to eye on designs? “We’re attracted to different things, but we arrive at the same place,” Ashley tells the fashion glossy. “I think we’re probably unaware of how intuitive it might seem from the outside. It’s basically one thought process shared between two people ... We are perfectionists. We’ve always wanted to be closely involved with everything, totally hands on - that’s why it works. If we step away, it stops working. I know it sounds controlling, but that’s how it has to be.”

Back in 2006 Mary-Kate Olsen and Nicky Hilton were some of the first A-list fashionistas to sport the $295 Alexander McQueen Silk Skull Scarf, and it seems like some of our favorite starlets refuse to let this look die!
Just the other day we caught a preggers Kourtney Kardashian wearing the scarf when she went shopping at the Topanga Mall (apparently she was on a mission “to find some fabulous Christmas stockings”), and we’ve spotted everyone from her sister Kim to Lindsay Lohan to Kristin Cavallari rocking the accessory over the years. Of course, let’s not forget about Nicole Richie—even though she wasn’t the first celebrity to wear it, she has the item in just about every color under the rainbow, and she wears it it as both a scarf an a headband. So clever, this one!
