Coty just struck gold with Katy Perry, as the cosmetics giant has just inked a deal with the pop superstar to create new fragrances and distribute her existing perfumes, Purr and Meow.
“Coty has become my partner,” the 28-year-old singer told Billboard. “We are working on the next fragrance, which is almost finished.” She also told the mag that the product will hit stores sometime next year.
Renato Semerari, president of Coty Beauty, said Perry’s approach to life would inspire “innovative new scents and allow us to explore new avenues of scent creation.”
Katy previously teamed up with Gigantic Parfums, and her debut scent Purr, which was sold exclusively at Nordstrom stores, become the best-selling perfume for nine consecutive weeks after its release.
Coty has an annual revenue of approximately $4.6 billion and sells beauty products tied to a slate of brands, including Calvin Klein, Chloe, Marc Jacobs and Playboy, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
